Mometasone nasal spray: how to take it safely

What it is for
Relieves hay fever and allergic stuffy, runny or itchy nose.
How to take it
- Blow your nose gently first.
- Shake the bottle. Spray into each nostril, pointing away from the middle of the nose.
- Do not sniff hard.
When to take it
Use it once or twice a day. It takes several days to work fully.

What to avoid
- Stopping after a day or two. It works best with regular use.
- Spraying towards the middle wall of the nose.
- Tell your doctor if you have had nose surgery or injury, or recurrent nosebleeds.
Possible side effects
Nosebleeds, dry or sore nose, headache, sneezing.
Get help if
Frequent or heavy nosebleeds, vision changes, or no improvement after 2 weeks: see a doctor.
