Patiromer: how to take it safely

What it is for
Lowers high potassium in the blood.
How to take it
- Prescription medicine: take it exactly as your doctor or pharmacist told you.
- Mix the powder with a glass of water, or soft food such as apple sauce, stir and take straight away.

- Other medicines within 3 hours before or after it. Check with your pharmacist.
- Tell your doctor if you have a bowel problem.
Possible side effects
Constipation, diarrhoea, nausea, wind, low magnesium.
