What it is for
Treats cold sores, genital herpes and shingles.
How to take it
- Prescription medicine: take it exactly as your doctor or pharmacist told you.
- Swallow with water.
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Start at the first sign of symptoms for best effect.
When to take it
Take it once or twice a day, as prescribed.
Take it with
With or without food.
What to avoid
- Becoming dehydrated.
- Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems or are pregnant.
- Touching sores and then your eyes. Wash your hands.
Possible side effects
Nausea, headache, stomach upset.
